Seminoles Recruit: New RB and LB Targets

Seminoles Recruit: New RB and LB Targets - painting of Florida State Seminoles football venue

Jayden Miles Draws Seminole Spotlight

Florida State’s new running backs coach Kam Martin made a pilgrimage to Baton Rouge to catch up with four-star tailback Jayden Miles, who’s already racking up offers from LSU, Ohio State, Auburn, Texas Tech, and Kentucky. A Baton Rouge Catholic standout, Miles exploded for over 1,000 rushing yards last season and set his school record with seven touchdowns in a single game. Martin, who earned FSU’s first offer to Miles almost two years ago, is determined to seal the deal ahead of Miles’s official visit to Tallahassee from May 29–31. The 6-foot-2, 203-pound back ranks No. 389 overall, No. 31 at his position, and No. 15 in Louisiana in the 2027 class. Meanwhile, Florida State continues to monitor other backs like Gary Walker, Tai Phillips, Asa Barnes, Kelsey Gerald, and Marquis Fennell.

Congratulations, Seminoles: you’ve discovered a running back who actually plays in May, not Mayberry. Head coach whose main recruiting tactic used to be “Hey, want some sunshine?” has hired young hotshot Kam Martin, who apparently can spot yards and touchdowns in a crowd of tomato-red jerseys. Now Martin’s driving excursions through Louisiana aim to convince Miles that an official campus visit beats a weekend at LSU’s fan fest. Will Jayden swap boot state for sunshine state? Or will he go where everyone else does? Strap in, FSU—it’s tailback drama time.

Seminoles Throw Linebacker Offers Into the Fray

Florida State has extended scholarship offers to two 2027 linebacker prospects: three-star Robert Geathers III, who stands 6′2″, weighs 212 pounds, and boasts 72 tackles with seven TFLs, eight pass breakups, and two picks; and rising star CJ Ohuabunwa, a 6′2″, 205-pound defender with 117 tackles, three TFLs, two sacks, and two interceptions. Geathers holds offers from Florida, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, and more; Ohuabunwa holds about 26 offers and has an official visit lined up for Virginia Tech. Both prospects are national sleepers being chased by powerhouses, and FSU will have to pull out every recruiting stop to get them on campus.

Behold, the Seminoles’ linebacker pitch: “We have a rich tradition of… um… middle linebacker meetings.” Against Georgia and Tennessee and every other school in the SEC, FSU is dangling scholarships like candy at a parade, hoping someone grabs one before it hits the ground. If Geathers and Ohuabunwa join, they’ll inherit a depth chart so long it requires a scroll function. Florida State’s motto: “We have too many linebackers already, but let’s add more—because why not?” College recruiting, everyone.
