Georgia Tech’s ACC Domination Dashes Duke’s Title Hopes - painting of Duke Blue Devils football venue

Yellow Jackets’ Blowout Leaves Blue Devils in the Dust

Georgia Tech routed Syracuse 41-16, cruising to an 8-0 overall and 5-0 ACC record. After a slow first quarter, the Yellow Jackets erupted for 31 points in the middle quarters. Quarterback Haynes King was flawless, completing 25-of-31 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, albeit against a porous Syracuse defense. This victory effectively crushes Duke’s hopes for an ACC title. To catch Georgia Tech, the Blue Devils would need the Jackets to lose two of their final three conference games while Duke wins out—an uphill climb given Duke’s remaining schedule. At best, Duke can aim for second place, but with multiple contenders lurking, even that looks precarious.

In an absolutely shocking turn of events, a mid‐tier engineering school tramples on a basketball powerhouse’s dream. Who could have predicted that Georgia Tech, a university that once struggled to fill its own parking lot, would become ACC royalty? Meanwhile, Duke fans are reportedly consulting psychics and offering sacrifices to the football gods, begging for a Yellow Jackets collapse. You’d think the Blue Devils would have prepared more thoroughly after losing to Clemson, Florida State, and apparently common sense. But alas, here we are—Duke trying to outrun a freight train with a skateboard. Strap in, Blue Devil Nation, because the only thing more unlikely than your ACC title hopes might be your coach’s wardrobe choices at the next game.
