Spartan Right Tackle Moore Opts for One More Season
Conner Moore, MSU’s starting right tackle, announced he will return for the 2026 season, reversing the trend of departures. Moore started all 12 games in 2025, logging 765 of 798 offensive snaps, earning a 68.7 PFF grade, and allowing six sacks. A former FCS All-American from Montana State, he chose MSU over Ohio State and Cincinnati last year. With one year of eligibility left, Moore’s return brings stability amid an offensive line overhaul: center Matt Gulbin graduates, guards Caleb Carter and Gavin Broscious are gone, and a new line coach, Nick Tabacca, replaces Jim Michalczik. MSU ranked last in Big Ten pass blocking, allowed 37 sacks (123rd nationally), so protecting the quarterback is top priority.
Welcome to Spartan Nation’s very own version of “Touched by an Offensive Tackle.” In a world where every Spartan fan is busy picking duct tape off their face after the latest sack compilation, Conner Moore has demonstrated loyalty by not clicking “Enter Transfer Portal.” Sources confirm he’s been swayed by promises of unlimited locker-room pizza and coach Fitzgerald’s bedtime stories about “the good old days.” With Moore standing firm, MSU’s offensive line might just survive to see another sunrise—or at least the first quarter next season. Kudos to Moore for resisting the peer pressure of mass departure. May his webbed feet forever protect our quarterback’s backside.
Left Tackle Ramil Jumps Ship After Injury-Plagued Season
Stanton Ramil, MSU’s left tackle and a key 2023 recruit, has entered the NCAA transfer portal after an injury-shortened 2025 campaign. A four-star recruit from Alabaster, Ala., Ramil started eight of 11 games in 2024 and appeared in five in 2025 before injuries sidelined him. His PFF grade fell from 71.4 in his partial season to 54.1 in 2024 after allowing three sacks on 344 pass-blocking snaps and committing six penalties. With two years of eligibility remaining, Ramil joins a growing exodus of Spartans—40 players in total—following a 4–8 season, the firing of coach Jonathan Smith, and the hiring of Pat Fitzgerald. Michigan State must now find a new protector for quarterback Alessio Milivojevic’s blindside.
Behold, the Great Spartan Exodus! While fans were busy overanalyzing why the band played the wrong fight song, Stanton Ramil decided the grass was greener in someone else’s end zone. Perhaps he dreamed of a school with fewer broken tackles and more bandwagon supporters. Two years of eligibility left and a portal as wide as Spartan Stadium’s tunnel—they all go rushing through like it’s Black Friday. It’s comforting to know that whenever MSU needs a left tackle next season, they can just scribble “Help Wanted” in neon on the scoreboard. Good luck, Stanton! May your portal journey be filled with fewer injuries—and more winning seasons.
