Frahm’s Fireworks Propel Nebraska Past Aggies

Frahm’s Fireworks Propel Nebraska Past Aggies - painting of Nebraska Cornhuskers softball venue

Frahm Flaunts Fierce Fastballs and Homer Heroics

Nebraska’s ace Jordy Frahm dazzled at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, striking out ten batters and crushing a three-run home run to lead the No. 10 Cornhuskers to an 8-2 victory over No. 11 Texas A&M. Frahm finished 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs and held the Aggies to one run over five innings, while Alexis Jensen closed out the final two frames, fanning four and allowing just one run. Nebraska’s offense featured five extra-base hitters—led by home runs from Frahm and Jesse Farrell—and the Huskers improved to 9-4, winning five straight and defeating five teams ranked in the top 15. Texas A&M stranded 11 runners, never matching Nebraska’s firepower. The Cornhuskers wrap up the weekend in Cathedral City with games against Seattle and Cal, streaming on FloSoftball and the Huskers Radio Network.

Clearly, Jordy Frahm spent the offseason moonlighting as a one-woman demolition derby. Who knew softball pitchers could moonwalk between mound visits, casually dropping ten K’s like confetti at a ticker-tape parade? Rumor has it she’s already fielding endorsement offers from local fences and bat rackets. Meanwhile, Nebraska’s lineup treated Texas A&M pitching like an all-you-can-eat buffet—five extra-base hits, eight runs in three innings, and zero apologies. If the Aggies hoped to slow this juggernaut, they’d have better luck teaching a cat to tap dance or convincing a stone wall to sprout legs. Next up, the Cornhuskers tackle Seattle and Cal; maybe someone should warn those teams not to bring water guns to this fireworks show.
