Elite Tackle Embarks on High-Stakes Campus Tour

Kalamazoo (Mich.) four-star offensive lineman Jakari Lipsey, rated as the No. 8 offensive tackle in the 2027 cycle, has secured five official visits this offseason. His schedule includes UCLA (May 15-17), Wisconsin (May 29-31), Michigan (June 5-7), Minnesota (June 12-14), and LSU (June 19-21). Lipsey, standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 290 pounds, holds offers from LSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Carolina, and others. LSU offensive line coach Eric Wolford has labeled Lipsey a priority target, and Lipsey will wrap up his official visits in Baton Rouge. As one of the top-100 prospects, his choices this spring and summer will likely determine the trajectory of his college career and potentially impact the recruiting momentum for several major programs.

Ah, the glamorous life of a teenage lineman: five trips, five swag bags, and just enough time to Google “What is a bayou?” before LSU tries to charm you with gumbo and marching bands. If you squint, Lipsey’s journey looks like a Netflix travel show—“Recruit U: Everyone’s Favorite Tackle.” One imagines him in various team stores, plopping down on couches to contemplate the weight of his future in between complimentary home-cooked meals. In Wisconsin, he’ll master the art of cheese curds; at UCLA, he’ll battle sunburn; in Minnesota, he may develop a sudden penchant for heavy parkas. Finally, in Baton Rouge, he’ll decide whether to pledge allegiance to purple and gold or flee back to Michigan’s proven snowbank training regimen. Stay tuned for the real drama: which team has the best tailgate nachos?
