Clemson’s Draftees & the Hopeful Replacements

Bills Swipe Parker, Tigers Seek Next Sack Artist

The Buffalo Bills drafted Clemson edge rusher T.J. Parker 35th overall in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft after three standout seasons. Parker arrived in 2023 as the second-ranked recruit in his class and quickly made an impact, recording 32 tackles, 12.5 for loss, five sacks, and two pass deflections as a freshman. He exploded in 2024 with 57 tackles, 19.5 for loss, 11 sacks, and six forced fumbles, ranking nationally among leaders in TFLs, sacks, and forced turnovers. Though his junior year dipped to 37 tackles and five sacks, scouts still valued his upside, boosted by a strong Senior Bowl showing. Clemson now turns to rising senior Will Heldt—last season’s leading TFL and sack man—and a trio of contenders for the opposite edge: Jahiem Lawson, healthy after an ankle setback, and transfer London Merritt, a decorated freshman from Colorado.

In a move almost as predictable as Clemson wearing orange, the Bills pounced on Parker like a hangry tiger on its fourth Snickers. Now Clemson must play “Guess Who?” along the defensive front, hoping Heldt and crew can replace a man whose primary hobby was destroying quarterbacks’ dreams. Strap in, Tigers fans: next season’s pass rush could resemble a giraffe on roller skates or, dare we hope, another Parker-level wrecking ball. Either way, Dabo’s got his clipboard ready and his “Here we go!” chant warmed up.

Washington Picks Williams, Tigers Eye Fresh Playmakers

Wide receiver Antonio Williams was taken 71st overall by the Washington Commanders in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, capping a four-year Clemson career with 208 receptions, 2,336 yards, and 23 touchdowns. A Freshman All-American in 2022, Williams led the Tigers in receiving yards as a true freshman—the first since Justyn Ross—and earned All-ACC honors twice. Clemson’s slot ace also threw two trick-play scoring passes. With Williams gone, Bryant Wesco Jr. and T.J. Moore return as the top targets, while Tyler Brown, Gordon Sellars III, Naeem Burroughs, Connor Salmin, Juju Preston, Cole Turner, and possibly Tristan Smith vie for snaps in a crowded room.

Goodbye, Antonio—hello, mystery meat in the wideout buffet! The Commanders get a polished slot magician, while Clemson turns its receiver room into a rotating door of hopefuls. Will Wesco and Moore carry the load or will freshman Gordon Sellars III actually turn heads instead of just stealing dorm room snacks? It’s like graduating seniors at a party: they all leave, and suddenly everyone else is awkwardly trying to fill the punch bowl.

Jets Nab Klubnik, Tigers Scramble for New Field General

Quarterback Cade Klubnik was selected by the New York Jets with the 110th pick of the fourth round in the 2026 NFL Draft, ending a four-year Clemson tenure that saw highs (4,102 scrimmage yards and 43 touchdowns in 2024, CFP berth) and lows (inconsistent 2023 and 2025 campaigns). Klubnik finishes as Clemson’s all-time leader in games (49) and completions (916), and among the top four in passing yards (10,123) and touchdowns (73). He departs behind prospects Christopher Vizzina, who impressed in limited action with 317 yards and three TDs in one start, and freshman Tait Reynolds, who showed promise in the Spring Game.

The Jets just snagged a QB who once looked destined for Canton, only to occasionally turn the football into modern art. Meanwhile, Clemson must choose between a guy with one collegiate start and a freshman with a spring fling of 74 yards. It’s quarterback roulette, but Dabo Swinney’s got more faith in his horoscope than club-level signal-callers. Will Vizzina’s patience pay off or will Reynolds shock us all and lead Clem-land? Grab your crystal balls and popcorn.
