From Wolverine to Warwick: Tschetter’s Explosive Start
Fresh off capturing a national title with Michigan, forward Will Tschetter signed in Australia’s NBL with the Warwick Senators. In his first professional outing, he poured in 25 points, snagged 13 rebounds, and drilled 12 of 13 free throws in a 103–89 victory over Joondalup. While Marshawn Blackmon led all scorers with 40 points, Tschetter proved he can still bring the hustle and energy he honed as a collegiate “glue guy.” After four seasons of adapting his role from high-school scoring phenom to defensive sparkplug, Tschetter now hopes to showcase his own scoring chops and perhaps earn a future NBA look.
Local Australian fans, accustomed to meat pies and cricket commentary, must now pivot to free-throw disputes and rebound dances, thanks to Tschetter’s arrival. One can only imagine the bewilderment when he insists on chalking his hands before every whistle or demands a “bus ride” celebration from his teammates in the locker room. Rumor has it that the Senators are already petitioning the league to install mini-nets around the three-point line, just to give Will something else to critique. Meanwhile, coaches everywhere are nervously googling “hustle plays” and “energy bench roles” to appease the next wave of former college glue guys threatening a global takeover.
