Orange and White Await: Vols Eye Transfer Star Juke Harris

Tennessee’s basketball program has retooled via the transfer portal and now targets Wake Forest standout Juke Harris. The versatile guard/forward averaged 21.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals in 2025, shooting 44/33/78. Harris is weighing his options: Tennessee, Michigan, North Carolina or the NBA Draft, where he might be a late first-round or second-round pick. Insider Chris Low predicts Harris will “pull the trigger” on a Tennessee commitment any day now, partly because his mother loves Rick Barnes’ squad. Landing Harris would make him the Vols’ seventh portal addition and solidify their status as a top-five transfer class.

In one corner, you have Juke Harris—the transfer portal’s golden goose—tossing around offers like beads at Mardi Gras. In the other corner, Tennessee basketball, desperate to slap an “I’m Yours” sticker on the nation’s hottest spare part. One can almost picture Rick Barnes drilling motivational speeches while hosting a BBQ in his office and serenading prospects with best-of motivational EDM playlists. Meanwhile, Juke’s mom, apparently Tennessee’s biggest recruiter, is probably knitting custom orange headbands and sending them to recruiters with “Mom Approved” tags. If this turns into a soap opera, at least the ratings will beat sitting through a slow-paced backcourt drama.

Crunch Time for Vols: Carter Jones Narrows His Options

Poquoson, Virginia’s four-star interior lineman Carter Jones has trimmed his recruitment to Tennessee, Clemson, Penn State and Georgia. Jones officially visited Penn State and Georgia and plans stops at Tennessee on May 21 and Clemson on May 29. Though predictions favor Clemson, Tennessee hopes a strong visit will flip the script. If Jones commits, he would become the Vols’ seventh 2027 pledge and rank among their class’s top three prospects.

Picture a football prospect playing draft day musical chairs with schools instead of teams. Carter Jones is strutting around the recruiting carnival, RSVP’ing to campus visits like they’re exclusive gala parties. He’s got a VIP pass to four BCS behemoths, and Tennessee is praying their stadium snacks out-shine Clemson’s. But folks, if you hear someone chanting “Go Vols!” during a campus tour, don’t blame the cheerleaders—that’s just the recruiters’ capoeira-style hype routine. Maybe next they’ll release scented brochures so prospects know Tennessee smells like success.
