Can Victory Onuetu Power Wisconsin’s Starting Five?
Wisconsin basketball has locked in 14 of its 15 players for 2026–27, blending transfers, internationals and freshmen. The latest addition, former Hofstra center Victory Onuetu, boasts elite defensive metrics—a 97th-percentile Defensive Win Shares per 40 and a 6.7% block rate—and a 99th-percentile offensive rebounding rate (17.0%). The Badgers struggled on defense and on the offensive glass last season, making Onuetu’s rim protection and second-chance scoring tantalizing. However, his limited college experience, lack of perimeter game and shaky shooting percentages (56.5 TS%, 51.7 FT%) raise questions about his readiness to start full time in the Big Ten.
Imagine the Badgers coaching staff gathered around a Ouija board, channeling the ghost of Big Ten Past for answers: “Oh spirits, should we unleash this Spanish shot-block juggernaut on unsuspecting foes?” Of course, the real magic trick is convincing a center who thrives on electrifying bursts to subsist on starter minutes like cold oatmeal—sure to sap any supernatural hops. But fear not: if Onuetu comes off the bench, Wisconsin can still evoke thunderous dunks while starring outshooting rivals from deep. It’s the basketball equivalent of inserting the Werewolf at halftime; the moonlight may just reveal the perfect defensive beast.
Wisconsin’s Audacious WR Flip Attempt
Wisconsin football is pursuing Cincinnati’s four-star wideout Chuck Alexander, currently committed to Louisville since November 2025. Alexander, a 6-foot-2, 185-pounder with 26 FBS offers and top-55 national receiver status, will visit Madison on June 12, South Carolina on June 19 and finalize his trip at Louisville on June 29. Wisconsin’s offense lacks a go-to wide receiver, and Alexander’s nuanced route-running, contested-catch ability and positional versatility could make an immediate impact.
Cue the Wisconsin brass donning secret agent shades, tip-toeing into Louisville’s backyard with a briefcase full of cheese curds and promises of near-perfect frozen lakes. Who wouldn’t be swayed by the subtle allure of Badger blue and endless midwestern casseroles? The strategy: play hard-to-get, invite Alexander to Madison, then ghost Louisville faster than a bad date. Of course, if South Carolina or Michigan slide in with tropical beaches or urban nightlife, the plan might unravel like a wool sweater in a cheese vat. But hey, desperate times call for desperate measures—especially when recruiting requires clandestine stakeouts at high school gyms.
