Meet the Three-Star Linebacker Taking Badger Nation by Storm
Wisconsin secured a commitment from Nathan Jones, a three-star linebacker from Desert Edge High School in Arizona, after landing earlier pledge from four-star wide receiver Jai Jones. Despite initial low visibility, Jones exploded onto recruiting radars in winter 2026, amassing 15 offers from programs such as Arizona, Baylor and Florida State. Versatile enough to play edge, mike linebacker or fullback, Jones is projected to line up as an inside backer for the Badgers, joining Keaton Wollan to solidify Wisconsin’s 2027 linebacker duo.
In a move that surely keeps the team’s stately recruitment trolley rolling, Wisconsin decided to snag one more linebacker because evidently three starting ILBs haven’t been enough in the past decade. Nathan “I-Power-Six-Pack” Jones, who apparently can bench-press arrogance as well as he can tackle, chose the Badgers over Power Four schools mostly because he loves frozen cheese curds and the smell of lambeau sweat in the morning. Coach Borland must be thrilled to cram one more “versatile” label onto the roster—because versatility is clearly what wins Big Ten championships and solves all locker room Rubik’s Cubes.
