Tigers Pounce on 2028’s First Football Stars

Clemson’s coaching staff wasted no time celebrating success on the 2027 trail, extending its inaugural offers to top 2028 prospects defensive end Asher Ghioto and linebacker Jay Schell. Ghioto, a five-star recruit from Florida, boasts 150 tackles and 30 sacks in two years and has built rapport through multiple campus visits. Schell, a four-star linebacker from Georgia, recorded 77 tackles and 12 QB hurries last season and has Clemson leading early on his recruitment. The Tigers’ summer camps and Elite Retreat appearances solidified strong relationships that culminated in their first 2028 offers.

Already fielding 12 commits in the last fortnight, Clemson clearly treats its recruiting camp like a fishing expedition, tossing lines and offers to anything that wiggles. In classic Dabo Swinney fashion, they’ve invited these teenagers to camp, seduced them with campus tours, and then flipped the switch when they posted enough sacks and tackles to warrant a shiny invite. It’s like a dating app where you only swipe right after someone hits 23 sacks in one season. Move over, stable relationships; we’re here for high school glory and multimedia tweets. Next up: launching a space program for blue-chip prospects.
