Homegrown Lineman Switches to Cardinal and White

Wisconsin’s 2027 class keeps growing as in-state offensive lineman Jack Tabbert flips his commitment from North Dakota State to the Badgers. A three-star prospect standing 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds, Tabbert brings 11 Division I offers to Madison, though Wisconsin is his lone Power Four suitor. He joins four other Dairy State linemen in the haul, all recruited by new O-line coach Eric Mateos. With 21 commits, the Badgers rank No. 14 nationally on 247Sports and No. 24 on On3/Rivals.

Behold the majestic transformation of Jack Tabbert—once clad in Bison green, now marching in cardinal and white! It’s as if his mom told him, “Why lift hay when you can lift weights at Camp Randall?” Wisconsin’s offensive line haul reads like a dairy-themed Netflix special: five Wisconsin-born linemen, one goal—dominate the trenches. While the Badgers politely stepped aside in certain superstar pursuits, they still landed this modestly unranked nugget, proving once again that the best recruits are often those who appreciate cheese curds over sunshine state beaches.

35 Offers Later, Badgers Snag Instinctual Safety

Three-star safety James “Trey” Roberson of Allen, Texas, committed to Wisconsin, marking the program’s ninth pledge in nine days. The 6-foot, 190-pound prospect had 35 offers from Power Five schools like Miami, Oklahoma, and Auburn. Renowned for his play recognition and physicality, Roberson adds to a class featuring three safeties and five defensive backs total, ranked No. 14 nationally on 247Sports and No. 24 on On3/Rivals.

If there were Olympic medals for commitment streaks, Luke Fickell would be auto-qualified. Enter Trey Roberson, the safety who turned down Miami and Nebraska in favor of cheese fries and frozen custard. Scouts say he’s not the biggest DB, but hey, he sees plays before they happen—a skill Wisconsin fans share when scanning retail aisles for discounted bratwurst. With Roberson, the Badgers have more defensive backs than a toddler has stuffed animals, guaranteeing that opposing quarterbacks will soon wish they’d majored in quantum physics instead.
