USC Trojans Roster Boost: Two-Way Star, DBs & Transfer

USC Trojans Roster Boost: Two-Way Star, DBs & Transfer - painting of USC Trojans football, baseball venue

Honor Fa’alave-Johnson Eyes Dual-Threat Trojan Role

USC’s five-star commit Honor Fa’alave-Johnson has already secured an Adidas NIL deal and tapped Marcus Allen as a mentor. At Cathedral Catholic (San Diego), he’s been a two-way force: as a sophomore he racked up 154 rushing yards, 42 receiving yards, and 18 tackles; as a junior he exploded for 1,265 rushing yards, 564 receiving yards, 28 touchdowns, plus 38 tackles and two interceptions on defense. During his official visit, he and coach Lincoln Riley discussed schemes that would let him moonlight on offense while anchoring the secondary—an echo of Adoree’ Jackson’s multi-role Trojan career.

Move over, Clark Kent—Honor Fa’alave-Johnson is USC’s answer to “why limit yourself to one superpower?” He’s already signed with Adidas, bonded with a Hall-of-Famer, and is undoubtedly plotting how to blitz safeties and cornerbacks alike. Lincoln Riley’s probably drafting playbooks in crayon to accommodate this two-way phenom. If he ends up returning punts, scoring touchdowns, and breaking up passes, opposing coaches will demand miracle-worker credentials.

USC Eyes Local DB Goldmine in 2028 Class

USC’s 2028 recruiting board is littered with elite Southern California defensive backs. Four-star safeties Ace Leutele and Troy Bishop from Mater Dei, plus Chauncey Washington II of Orange Lutheran, headline the safety haul. On the corner side, four-star prospects Jordan Hicks (Mission Viejo), Ca’ron “Prime” Williams (Santa Margarita), Derrick Coleman (Serra), and three-star candidates Jordan Slye (Salesian) and Micah Hannah (Simi Valley) have all visited campus, built relationships with Trovon Reed and Chad Savage, and drawn interest from powerhouse programs nationwide.

Forget credit card points—USC is stacking defensive backs like frequent-flyer miles. Ace Leutele’s visits are so frequent he might ask for a dorm key, while Jordan Hicks is auditioning for “The Bachelor: Recruitment Edition.” Ca’ron “Prime” Williams brings pipeline pedigree, and Derrick Coleman’s high-school has its own Trojan alumni association. It’s recruiting theater, and USC holds the headlining roles.

Trojans Seek SEC Batting Upgrade with Craddock

Fresh off a 48-18 season and a narrow 4-3 Super Regional loss to North Carolina, USC baseball is chasing South Carolina infielder Will Craddock through the transfer portal. Craddock, a .260 hitter with 10 homers this past season, will visit Georgia, Mississippi State, and USC before choosing his next home. With returners like Kevin Takeuchi (.320 avg., 10 homers) and Jack Basseer, plus sophomore ace Grant Govel ready to lead after Mason Edwards heads to the draft, Trojans hope Craddock’s arrival sparks a deeper College World Series run.

Attention, Trojan Nation: it’s time for transfer portal bingo! Will Craddock, the Gamecock slugger, is the next puzzle piece for USC’s championship jigsaw. A .260 batting average? Mere placeholder numbers until Trojan magic transmutes them to MVP figures. Augie Lopez’s departure left a donut in the lineup, and Craddock’s arrival could turn that into a three-course feast. Next stop: Omaha—or get off the bus!
