Court Vision Meets Court Size: Tigers Chase Tennessee Tower

Clemson men’s basketball extended an offer to 6-foot-9 four-star power forward Davis Cochran, the No. 152 overall recruit and No. 3 in Tennessee for the 2027 cycle. A Brentwood High standout, Cochran averaged 22 points, 10 rebounds and nearly 2 blocks per game as a junior, earning All-State and District MVP honors. He racked up a dozen mid-major offers before exploding on the Nike EYBL circuit with Brad Beal Elite—securing All-Circuit Third Team honors and six more offers. Now sitting on 26 in total, Cochran’s recruitment features interest from Cincinnati (43% prediction), High Point, Notre Dame and several ACC, Big Ten and SEC programs.

In a bold move, Clemson is apparently treating its basketball roster like an inflated laundry list—because who doesn’t want a six-nine dude who can block shots and sniff out rebounds? Rumor has it Coach Brownell is building a human net that can double as a giraffe habitat. Meanwhile, Davis Cochran is busy collecting offers like Pokémon cards, except instead of Charmander or Bulbasaur, it’s Tennessee, Princeton, San Jose State and the rest of the collegiate zoo. Will he pick Clemson and join a team so clutch they almost made a tournament two years ago? Stay tuned for the next episode of “As the Recruiting World Turns.”

Linebacker Royalty: Tigers Go All-In on Jersey’s Finest

Clemson’s football staff offered five-star linebacker Tahj “TJ” Gray, the No. 24 overall recruit in 2028 and top at his position. The 6-3, 225-pounder from St. Joseph Regional posted 102 tackles, 10.5 for loss and four sacks as a sophomore, leading his team to a Non-Public A state title. Gray has compiled nearly 50 Division I offers, including from Penn State, Notre Dame, Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M, and continues visits this spring and summer. His brotherly bond with Chaz Gray adds a twist: Tahj says it’s “50/50” he’ll end up playing alongside him.

It appears Clemson is so desperate for defensive muscle that they’ll cold-call the neighbor’s kid—assuming he’s got the right height, weight and divine calling. Tahj Gray isn’t merely babysitting quarterbacks; he’s leading a one-man mission to convert every eligible high school TE into a future NFL linebacker. And if all else fails, he can always recruit his brother Chaz into a familial tag team—because nothing says brotherly love like tackling fullbacks in unison. Pray, recruit and repeat: that’s the Tigers’ new recruiting creed.
