Bama Nets Georgia Edge Rusher for 2027
Alabama football has landed a commitment from 3-star edge rusher Tyler Younger, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound product of Greater Atlanta Christian School. Ranked No. 53 among edge prospects and No. 76 overall in Georgia by 247Sports, Younger chose the Crimson Tide over Stanford, Rutgers, and UCF. He’s the lone “Wolf” prospect in Bama’s 2027 class after teammate Kenneth Simon flipped to Tennessee. Younger received his offer on June 14, visited campus this past weekend, and now becomes the 10th member of a class currently ranked No. 64 nationally and No. 15 in the SEC.
In a move that surely has coaches double-checking their recruiting playbooks, Alabama’s staff somehow convinced another Georgia kid to shuffle his jersey colors. One can only imagine the pitch: “Come to Tuscaloosa—where the grass is greener, the state farms love you, and you get to verbally out-fox Florida State’s QB.” Of course, flipping prospects was getting so last season: now it’s all about securing the lone “Wolf” recruit and leaving Tennessee fans howling in the dark. Stay tuned for when Tyler Younger officially changes his name to “Bama’s Next Big Thing” and the Tide social media team starts selling #YoungerInTuscaloosa T-shirts.
Joe Gaither Unpacks the NBA Draft & Bama Hoops
On a Tuesday edition of The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral, host Hunter De Siver kicked things off by reliving a Knicks championship celebration in New York and dove into Tuesday night’s NBA Draft, focusing on Labaron Philon’s prospects and which team might pick him. The show also featured a tour of Alabama’s new basketball facility, early looks at the 2026-27 roster, and a preview of the Crimson Tide’s upcoming football opponents Eastern Carolina and Florida State. The program is sponsored by State Farm agent Derek Daniel and Purple Turtle Roofing, and is available live Monday through Friday on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music.
Because nothing says “sports analysis” like being bombarded with insurance pitches and roofing endorsements amid draft predictions, De Siver somehow managed to turn an NBA scouting session into a commercial break frenzy. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll wonder if this podcast is secretly a multi-level marketing scheme for roof shingles. And let’s not forget the real question: can Florida State’s QB with prior Alabama experience lead the Seminoles to an upset, or will he be too busy reading his Purple Turtle siding contract? Tune in, leave a voicemail, and remember—you can’t spell “insider info” without “agent” and “nail.”
