Big Man on Campus: Caden Moss Joins the Buckeyes
Class of 2027 four-star offensive tackle Caden Moss has pledged to Ohio State, opting for the Buckeyes over heavyweights like Alabama, LSU, and Tennessee. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Jackson Academy standout ranks as the nation’s No. 8 offensive tackle per 247Sports and becomes the sixth OL commit in OSU’s 2027 cycle. Moss helped his high school rush for over 300 yards per game, led his team to a state title, and drew comparisons to ex-Georgia lineman Micah Morris. His two-week-old campus visit sealed the deal, and he joins a growing list of big men eyeing Columbus. Meanwhile, Buckeyes O-line coach Tyler Bowen—fresh off NFL and college stops—has his work cut out boosting the unit after a sub-par run game in 2025.
Oh, look, another hulking lineman who eats breakfast with a forklift and can bench-press a small car. Buckeye nation, rejoice—because nothing says “we’re serious” like stockpiling 300-plus-pound teenagers who moonlight as your town’s entire bowling league. And let’s hear it for Coach Bowen, the man who turned last year’s rushing attack into a museum exhibit. Sure, he’s got NFL creds, but so did that one guy who coached a paper football team in his basement. If Moss can—and here’s hoping—transform into a run-smashing machine and not just another walk-on snow shovel, maybe the Buckeyes will remember how to move the ball on the ground. Or, you know, we’ll just settle for pretty pass protection and call it a day.
Fly Route to Columbus: Jordan Donahoo’s Buckeye Bound
Three-star wide receiver Jordan Donahoo from Oviedo High School (FL) has committed to Ohio State, becoming the second 2027 pass-catcher to hitch his wagon to the Buckeyes after five-star Jamier Brown. At 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds, Donahoo hauled in 34 catches for 627 yards and five touchdowns last season and also posts a 12.68-second 100-meter dash. He weighed offers from Wisconsin, Yale, Harvard, and more before picking Columbus over Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, and Minnesota. OSU’s recent recruiting momentum under Ryan Day also includes a shore-up offensive lineman and keeps eyes locked on future running backs and defensive linemen trending toward Buckeye red.
Behold, the next great Ohio State wideout—part receiver, part track sprinter, part basketball player, and wholly destined to break our hearts in 2032. Nothing screams “elite football program” like securing a guy who can also dunk a basketball and outrun your grandma in the neighborhood sprint. Donahoo’s athletic résumé is so well-rounded, we’re half expecting him to dabble in synchronized swimming next. But hey, if he can haul in 34 balls and outrun defenders while wearing a scarlet helmet, maybe he’ll restore some swagger to the Buckeye offense. Or at least give fans a reason to care during the April spring game.
