Oregon Secures Top-100 Cornerback in Walden
Tae Walden, a 4-star cornerback from Collierville, Tennessee, has officially committed to the Oregon Ducks for the 2027 recruiting class. Standing just under 6-foot-3 and 165 pounds, Walden was pursued by multiple Power Four programs, including a serious push from Georgia under Kirby Smart. Ultimately, coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks’ rising momentum on the trail won him over. Walden becomes the 22nd commit in a class that’s currently ranked sixth nationally, adding elite coverage ability and versatility to Oregon’s defensive backfield.
Finally, a local Tennessee kid has given the Ducks a reason to cheer beyond rain and quinoa salad. You might say Walden saw the swanky uniforms, heard the Ducks quack louder than his high school pep rally, and thought, “Why not?” Meanwhile, Georgia fans are left weeping into their beignets, muttering about how they’ll console themselves with the rest of their completely stacked, obviously understaffed, definitely mediocre 2027 class. Fear not, Bulldogs: you’ll still have snacks at signing day.
