Blue Devils Chase 7-Foot Recruit to Build Next Dynasty

Duke head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff have aggressively pursued top prospects in the 2027 and 2028 classes, recently extending an offer to 5-star center Yann Kamagate. At 7’0″ and 230 pounds, Kamagate is rated No. 3 overall and the top center in the 2028 class by 247Sports. He attends St. Francis High School in California and has already drawn interest from powerhouse programs like Arizona, Kansas, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Houston, Baylor, UCLA, and Texas. Scheyer’s staff even scouted him in June, and Kamagate announced Duke’s offer on Instagram. With his mix of size, athleticism, and two-way dominance, Kamagate is now firmly in Duke’s crosshairs as the Blue Devils look to bolster their future roster.

In a move that can only be described as “Aggressive Gym-Rat Theater,” Duke has decided that eating protein shakes for breakfast isn’t enough—they must now collect towering teenagers like Pokémon cards. Clearly aware that college basketball dynasties begin with stacking your roster like a Jenga tower made of seven-foot high schoolers, the Blue Devils are sending out scholarship invitations faster than your aunt forwards chain emails. Meanwhile, Kamagate must decide which campus tour has the best free snacks and Wi-Fi while ignoring the urgent texts from half the ACC begging him to choose them. One can almost hear the coaching staff plotting whether to give him jersey No. 00 or a cape upon arrival. As recruiting wars go, this one’s shaping up to look less like a sporting contest and more like a multi-campus Hunger Games for 17-year-olds.
