Viktor Lakhin Takes His Talents to Kings’ Summer Showcase

Clemson’s redshirt big man Viktor Lakhin has earned a slot on the Sacramento Kings’ roster for the 2026 NBA Summer League. Under coach Brad Brownell, Lakhin made his mark at Clemson during the 2024–25 season, averaging 11.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. A surprisingly reliable deep threat for a center, he hit 37.5% of his threes and drained multiple long-range shots in five contests. Late-season heroics saw him drop 20-plus points in back-to-back wins against Duke and UNC. After going undrafted, he inked a deal with the Thunder, spent time with the G League’s OKC Blue, and even logged minutes overseas with Santurce in Puerto Rico. Now he’s back at Summer League hoping to secure a roster spot in Sacramento.

Ah, the NBA Summer League: where athletes transform from college legends into rubber-soled window washers, lovingly scrubbing their dreams on the practice court. Viktor Lakhin’s journey from Tiger territory to Kings kingdom has all the makings of a feel-good sports saga—if by “feel-good” you mean “mildly amusing appetizer” before the real feast of regular-season mediocrity. While Cleveland fans might argue the Kings haven’t eaten a winning season in decades, Lakhin will singlehandedly reverse the drought by swishing a single triple in a blowout loss. Cheer on as our hero learns the fine art of substituting—in the nation’s smallest arenas, with broadcasts no bigger than a meme. Will Viktor emerge as Sacramento’s next great surprise? Or will he become a highlight-reel footnote in the G League archives? Stay tuned, because nothing says “NBA stardom” like playing two preseason games and a parade in your hometown.
