Spartans Seek 4-Star PG to Cement Their Backcourt Legacy

Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo and his staff have extended an offer to Antonio Pemberton, a four-star point guard in the class of 2027, ranking No. 37 nationally, No. 10 at his position, and No. 1 in Massachusetts. Pemberton joins a final list of eight suitors, including Boston College, Creighton, Kansas, Marquette, Ohio State, Tennessee, and UCLA. With veteran point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. potentially heading to the NBA after the 2026–27 season, MSU is already planning for the future. The Spartans have also offered other guards such as Jaxson Davis, Aaron Britt Jr., Kingston Thomas, and Joshua Tyson, anticipating roster turnover amid the NCAA’s new age-based eligibility model.

In a bold move worthy of an Izzo masterclass, Michigan State has declared open season on the nation’s top point guards, as if their Breslin Center lacks nothing but a telepathic wizard to run the show. Who needs title banners when you can fill your roster with 17-year-olds promising to deliver the Final Four on demand? With Jeremy Fears Jr. flirting with the NBA draft like a reality-TV star sworn to secrecy, Izzo’s team is treating recruitment as a high-stakes game of Pokémon—“Gotta catch ’em all,” they chant. Soon, Spartan scouts will be camping at every under-16 AAU tournament, clipboard in hand, plotting to hijack frappuccinos from unsuspecting teens. Because why wait for next season’s stars when you can poach them from the womb?
