Hoops Hinge on Carrington’s Courtroom Comeback
Wisconsin basketball deliberately left its 15th roster spot vacant this offseason as coach Greg Gard and GM Marc VandeWettering eyed potential transfer or international additions. A recent Colorado injunction granting high-school class of 2022 athletes extra eligibility could reopen the door for sharpshooter Braeden Carrington, who already joined a related lawsuit. Carrington, having shot 40.1% from three last season, has been around the team during summer workouts even as he waits to see if the NCAA pushes back. If the injunction holds, Wisconsin may add the former Badger guard for another season, shoring up its bench and spacing the floor.

Fall Camp Fantasy: Who’s Starting in Madison?
With Big Ten Media Days behind them, Wisconsin football kicks off local media day on Aug. 5 and begins fall practice Aug. 6, culminating in a scrimmage on Aug. 23. Before pads pop off, here’s a Week 1 projected lineup: QB Colton Joseph leads the charge with Ryan Hopkins as backup; RB room headlined by Iowa State transfer Abu Sama, followed by Darrion Dupree and Bryan Jackson; WR corps anchored by Chris Brooks Jr., Jaylon Domingeaux, Tyrell Henry and Eugene Hilton; Jacob Harris commands tight end duties. The O-line features PJ Wilkins at LT, Colin Cubberly at LG, Austin Kawecki at C, Emerson Mandell at RG, Kevin Heywood at RT. Defensively, Hammond Russell and Charles Perkins anchor the D-line; OLBs Sebastian Cheeks and Tyreese Fearbry flank Nick Clayton; ILBs Mason Posa, Cooper Catalano and Jon Jon Kamara patrol the interior; CB trio of Javan Robinson, Jai’mier Scott and Bryce West patrols the secondary; safeties Marvin Burks Jr. and Matt Jung finish the unit.
