Virginia Tech junior tight end Luke Reynolds, a transfer from Penn State, has been named to the John Mackey Award Watch List for the nation’s top tight end. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Cheshire Academy product boasts a résumé that includes 368 receiving yards and a touchdown over two seasons at Penn State, plus a standout spring game performance at Virginia Tech with five catches for 69 yards. Reynolds was a five-star recruit in high school and will vie against seven other ACC tight ends also on the preseason list. VT’s season opener is Sept. 5 at VMI.
