Florida Coach: Uniforms Don’t Matter—Just Win Games

Sumrall Shrugs Off Jersey Drama, Demands Victories

Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall announced that he’s utterly indifferent to which uniform combinations his team rocks this season, declaring he “could give two sh*ts” about helmets and jerseys. The Gators will cycle through eight different looks in 2026—two brand-new blue-helmeted sets, classic white 60s-style throwbacks, traditional orange-and-blue home and away kits, and a handful of alternates. Fans have already erupted online over which options should stay or go. Sumrall, however, says his sole concern is a winning record, insisting that if the Gators triumph, any uniform—no matter how gaudy—will automatically look championship-caliber.

In a stunning display of coaching bravado, Sumrall crashed the uniform party like the kid who shows up to a prom in cargo shorts and says, “Sorry, I only dance if we win.” While the athletic department painstakingly plotted out every helmet decal and pant stripe, Jon was busy pondering deeper mysteries—like whether gator headgear really improves fourth-quarter performance. He laughed off calls for green “alligator” uniforms, opting instead for the sacred orange, blue and white holy trinity. It’s a radical stance in an era when collegiate sideline cosplay often overshadows actual gameplay. But fear not, Gator Nation: if Sumrall gets his way, the team’s record will dictate whether we call those break-away jerseys fashion icons or landfill fodder.
